Eduardo Riberio was the winner of the first edition of SCOPIO International Photobook Contest that had as title “Crossing Borders, Shifting Boundaries: Architecture” and it aimed to promote and enable the discussion surrounding the Photobook format, in particular looking at old, rare and influential photography books from the 20th century onwards. This edition had as partners and collaborators the Photobook Club Porto, Photobook Club Coimbra, Photobook Club Lisboa and Photobook Club and it had also the support of Mercearia de Arte Alves & Silvestre.
This contest was focused on creating visual narratives based on city spaces’ physical and conceptual configurations - between urban and architecture - and on how people, in their daily lives and work, appropriate, accommodate and challenge city spaces. The jury awarded the projects: “Nó” (Eduardo Ribeiro, winner), ‘‘Apropriações” (Pedro Gonçalves, mention), and “Périphérie(s) Oubliée(s)” (Cristophe Gourdier, mention).
Currently, the book "Nó" is associated to many Photobook's festivals to which it was selected such as:
Athens Photo Festival, Benaki Museum, at Athens, Greece;
Indian Photo Festival, State Art Gallery Madhapar, at Hyderabad, India.
As elements of promotion of the book, there are samples available to view at the Biblioteca de Arte da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Colecção Livros de Artista, and at the Biblioteca de Facultad de Bellas Artes de Madrid, Colecção de Fotolivros, and Biblioteca da FAUP.
