FOTOFESTIWAL OPEN CALL 2020
Fotofestiwal - International Festival of Photography in Łódź, the largest and the oldest photography festival in Poland, announces the call for projects within Fotofestiwal Open Call 2020! Entries may be submitted until 4 December 2019. The competition's formula is open and does not impose any thematic, age or geographical limitations.
If your project is selected as one of the six best, you will be offered:
→ exhibition during Fotofestiwal 2020 (over 20.000 viewers);
→ production budget (and full technical support) – 450€;
→ artist's fee – 400€;
→ accommodation for the main weekend of the festival (June 4-7, 3 nights);
→ reimbursement of travel expenses up to 200€;
→ promotion before, during and after the festival.
We are looking for artists with exceptional personalities and projects which present bold visions. We invite specialists from the world's most important media and photographic institutions to join the Jury. From the submitted projects, the Jury will select sixwhich, in cooperation with the curators of Fotofestiwal, will be presented in the form of an exhibition.

Fotofestiwal was established in 2001 as one of the first photographic events in Poland. Since then it has become one of the most important and largest photography festivals in Central Europe, but its basic mission has not changed. We present different faces of photography, we talk through photography about important social and artistic issues, we introduce the audience to the unobvious beauty and unique history of Łódź. We organize exhibitions in post-industrial spaces, we emphasize networking events, we try to develop new ways of talking about photography. One of them is the original Photo-Match formula: A Completely Different Portfolio Review. Since 2016, all events have been organized collectively, in a horizontal structure - without a management. We are trying to work out a new way of managing a cultural organization.
Fotofestiwal 2020 will be held in Lodz, between 4 and 21 June.
